Let me know how you feel Speak UP

  1. It might be wasteful - shark steaks are tasty, after all. Why harvest only the fin? THAT is just laziness. I disagree with your essential position, which is that humans don't have the right to exist. Take a look at all of nature, don't be so tunnel-visioned. Species become extinct when they cannot handle the conditions, whatever they may be. Why is OUR species "outside of nature"?

I never said humans don't have the right to exist, but why do we have more of a right than a shark? They were here long before us. I agree animals go extinct all the time, but does it happen at the hands of murderous humans. If saving our oceans and caring is tunnel vision then I guess that is what I am. I don't think that mankind killing out a whole species for soup is a part of nature...I am not saying that people shouldn't eat shark. I am sure it is tasty just like any other fish...what I am saying is it is not God's will or nature's will to hunt a species into extinction. I could see if shark was the last meat on earth, but that is by far not the case. I am curious...would you have this view on any animal? Is it ok that people are doing this to whales, tigers, elephants...just for fur, fins, and tusks. It really make me sad that you think in this manner, and I must say I am so very glad your the minority cause if everyone had this opinion we would be in big trouble.

Animals play a huge part on this planet. If you take out a top predator there is going to be serious consequences to the whole ecosystem. It will not just fix itself as you say. As humans it is our duty to take care of this planet not detroy it.
